‘Light on a cold mountain.’ Unknowingly, I was given a name whose meaning perfectly describes my life’s purpose. As a clinical neuropsychologist, I am committed to being a light that illuminates, kindles, and provides warmth to all who journey through the cold mountains of despair, loneliness, and confusion.
For more than a decade, I have invested my time and effort in enhancing my ability to use our human connection to help and heal. My education and experiences within the Dubai, Indian, and American context have taught me that one size does not fit all. Psychology, both in its theories and practice, has been a passion I have nurtured for nearly a decade. During my time at Widener University, I leveraged its generalist training model while also pursuing advanced training in neuropsychology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and biofeedback. Clinically, I have practiced at inpatient and outpatient psychology clinics, organizational and leadership development initiatives, and assessment centers, all with the vision of applying these experiences to the work I expect to undertake in the UAE. Therefore, I tailor evidence-based services to the distinctive needs of those who seek my help, each of whom is uniquely shaped by their personality, biology, history, cultures, values, and experiences.
My services are threefold. I provide psychotherapy to help individuals work through challenges and transform their relationship with the world, others, and themselves. I conduct assessments for diagnosis, intervention planning, and to understand brain and personality functions that influence our abilities and goals. I also offer psychoeducational services for the community as part of our collective pursuit of excellence, meaning, and authentic happiness. I continue to look for opportunities to serve the community and thus further my own development as a clinician. My aspiration is to be able to continue with these endeavors and utilize my experiences and learning to make a worthy difference through the field of psychology in the Middle East and beyond.
